Rafeef Ziadah is a Palestinian performance poet, human rights activist and academic based in London. Her performances of poems like ‘We Teach Life, Sir’ and ‘Shades of Anger’ went viral online within days of their release. She received an Ontario Arts Council Grant to create her debut spoken-word album Hadeel and her second album We Teach Life is in final production. Rafeef was chosen to represent Palestine at the South Bank Centre Poets Olympiad in 2012. Currently, she holds a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of London, SOAS with the ‘Military Mobilities and Mobilising Movements in the Middle East’ project. She is a secretariat member of the Palestinian Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions National Committee.
